As the operations lead for the Rare Disease and Pediatric Center of Excellence, Guisela Torres delivers a broad range of scientific expertise, operational oversight and support to business development activities for PPD’s rare disease and pediatric trials.
Ms. Torres previously worked as a clinical scientist at PPD where she supported global product development in all scientific aspects of full drug development. Ms. Torres joined PPD in 2010 from MedImmune, where she held roles as a senior clinical study program manager overseeing MedImmune’s infectious diseases and vaccines program, clinical program manager and clinical study specialist. While at MedImmune, she worked closely with project teams to ensure trials were conducted according to timelines and budget. Her experience comprises of multiple therapeutic areas and several indications within infectious diseases, such as respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), influenza, complicated intra-abdominal and urinary tract infections.
