Pierre Jolicoeur, Ph.D., has managerial oversight of cell-based and vaccine assay activities within the PPD® Laboratories vaccine sciences lab. Dr. Jolicoeur has a background in immunology, microbiology and molecular biology. His more than 25 years of experience — 16 years in the CRO industry — has focused on cell-based assays, functional immunology as well as therapeutic and gene therapy vaccines. As a member of PPD’s lab management team since 2006, Dr. Jolicoeur’s duties involve the support associated with the development, transfer and validation of bioanalytical methods.
Before joining PPD, Dr. Jolicoeur was an associate director for ligand binding and cell-based assay services for another CRO. He was responsible for coordinating and managing all contracted work within the bioanalytical section. He reviewed and approved all scientific, regulatory and operational aspects of cell-based assays for clinical and nonclinical studies. Dr. Jolicoeur’s experience also includes positions as a manager for research and development and viral custom services, as well as a study director for preclinical services at Qbiogene, Inc.
Dr. Jolicoeur received a doctorate in microbiology and immunology from the Universite de Montreal. His dissertation focused on the impact of lymphotropism of MHV3 on the development of HIV-like pathogenesis in a mouse model.
