Lisa Hornick, M.D., serves as senior vice president of pharmacovigilance and medical communications for PPD. In this role, she oversees PPD’s pharmacovigilance operations, global safety systems and medical monitoring teams, as well as the company’s medical communications business unit. Under her leadership, both the pharmacovigilance and medical communications functions have expanded their locations and operations within Asia, Europe and Latin America. In addition, she has led the transition to electronic case processing and medical management, the development and implementation of proprietary safety surveillance systems, and the expansion of medical support and safety surveillance to all phases of clinical development.
Since joining PPD in 2001, Dr. Hornick has served as a medical consultant to numerous clients and project teams, and has been promoted to positions of increasing responsibility. She has served as an associate medical director, medical director, lead medical director, executive medical director, vice president of global pharmacovigilance and senior vice president of early development. Dr. Hornick was a member of PPD’s Global Leadership class of 2007 and its Lead Vision class of 2015.
Dr. Hornick received her medical degree from the University of Nebraska. She completed her residency and internship in internal medicine at the University of Arizona and is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
