PPD
Christopher Perkins, M.D., is a medical director for PPD. In that role, he provides medical consultation to clients and project team members for clinical trial program development and other activities, including business development through marketing application.
Experience
Since joining PPD in 2006, Dr. Perkins has provided his expertise to more than 35 studies—nearly half of which have been focused on cardiovascular and diabetes. He has more than 20 years of experience in research, private practice and internal medicine. Dr. Perkins’ therapeutic experience includes urinary tract infections, pneumonia, sinusitis, viral hepatitis, travel medicine, diabetes, thyroid disorders, metabolic syndrome and hyperlipidemia.
Education
After graduating from the Duke University School of Medicine, Christopher trained at the University of North Carolina Hospital where he became chief resident in internal medicine. After that, he practiced medicine with a special emphasis on diabetes and cardiovascular treatment and prevention.
