PPD
Dermatology seeks to discover new drug candidates and evaluate existing candidates across a range of dermatological disorders such as psoriasis, acne and atopic dermatitis. Promising candidates will be fed into our compound partnering program for further development using our extensive preclinical and clinical resources.
The scientific credentials of PPD Dermatology include unique dermal biology resources to screen compounds for their potential to work in topical indications. Researchers use state-of-the-art research and development capability to do the work.
At our 13,000-square-foot lab in Waltham, Mass., PPD Dermatology has an experienced team of professionals with research, preclinical, dermal biology and extensive development expertise. We offer innovative screening and research capabilities that include cell-based systems, human skin explant models, irritation testing and high throughput cytokine analysis to model a variety of skin diseases.
We are in the process of evaluating a series of vitamin D receptor modulators we in-licensed from Eli Lilly and Company as well as certain Lilly compounds against six other targets for which we have an exclusive option to license. All of these drug candidates are being tested for their antiproliferative and anti-inflammatory effects for dermatological use.
