Electronic Data Capture (EDC)

Every study is unique. Whether your study requirements demand a data management solution to manage complex global clinical trials or simple data collection, PPD brings comprehensive EDC solutions to capture, clean and analyze real-time data across a variety of EDC applications.

Our EDC solutions include Oracle® Remote Data Capture (RDC) Onsite 4.5.3, a robust and easy-to-navigate system to collect and report real-time data for large-scale, global clinical trials, and PPD GlobalView, a customizable global event management and adjudication system for expeditious review of safety and endpoint-driven data from large-scale clinical trials or registries. In addition, PPD has established working relationships and experience with leading third-party EDC providers.

Oracle RDC Onsite 4.5.3

In 2001, PPD adopted the Web-based Oracle Clinical system for data management. Since that time, PPD has become one of the largest Oracle Clinical installations in the world and was part of a group of customer advisors that worked closely with Oracle to develop new functionality for Oracle RDC Onsite 4.5.3. By integrating the product into its suite of clinical trial management applications, PPD has accelerated entry and management of clinical trial data and expanded real-time reporting capabilities for its clients. In addition, PPD has integrated its interactive voice response (IVR) system with the Oracle platform, enabling investigators to enroll and randomize patients with the IVR, automatically transmitting enrollment data into Oracle Clinical and the Oracle RDC Onsite 4.5.3 system, all during the same phone call.

PPD's extensive collaboration with Oracle has resulted in the implementation of this fast, robust, easy-to-use application at clinical trial investigative sites around the world.
