Lead Compound Identified From an Extensive List
A large international pharmaceutical company came to Piedmont Research Center
(PRC) more than two years ago with a series of compounds. Some of the compounds
had only been tested in vitro for efficacy against the molecular target,
some had been tested for basic pharmacokinetics and some had never been tested.
From this large list, PRC helped the client identify a lead compound, establish
an effective schedule and show efficacy in a number of models and tumor types.
Currently PRC is identifying a second lead compound for IND submission.
