Brian
What I do: I’m responsible for data center services in the information technology (IT) department. My main focus is IT infrastructure, helping to align business needs with IT solutions. That means I work with application teams to design specifications and purchase things like servers and systems. I also manage a team that oversees some of the operating systems PPD uses to manage clinical data.
Career path: I started as a technical support representative, then moved to associate assistant administrator. I was promoted to systems administrator, then senior systems administrator, before taking my current position.
What I like best about working at PPD: As PPD grows, I’m fascinated with how our technology changes. I love puzzles, I love putting things together, which is how I look at the new services and technologies we are developing to meet the growth of the company. I really enjoy that.
PPD is a great place to work because of… the dynamics of the organization. What I like best is the flexibility, the evolving nature of the organization. I also like our commitment to quality; the way we manage our infrastructure is really driven by our commitment to clients.
What I have learned at PPD: In a business like ours, you really rely on other people and our people are the best. You have a comfort zone with the people you work with at PPD. I feel that we feed off of each other’s strengths to ensure success. That’s a very valuable workplace asset and something you don’t have at a lot of places.
More about me: I am an avid golfer and play several times a month. I have an infant son, and I love to spend time with him. I like to spend time with my friends, going to concerts, playing games or just hanging out. |
