What I Do: I coordinate the project managers across the Latin American region. Although my team is spread over five countries, we are in constant contact – sharing ideas, providing feedback and planning future steps. The geographical, cultural and language obstacles provide for a challenging yet diverse and exciting work day.
Career Path: I started as a junior clinical research associate (CRA) in 1996. I was promoted through all the CRA positions, then became a project manager in 1999. In 2003, I assumed the clinical operations manager position. In 2006, I was promoted to associate director.
What I like best about working at PPD: I enjoy being part of a respected company dedicated entirely to providing ethical and quality results to its customers.
What I’ve learned at PPD: Over the past 11 years, I’ve learned much about clinical research; however, the most important lessons were how to build a skilled team as well as how to guide and motivate team members as they continually produce quality results day after day. Mentor guidance, hands-on experience, dedication to quality and extensive professional training have all proven vital to our success. I think of PPD as a university!
How PPD has exceeded my expectations: By offering challenging yet rewarding work; coupled with career path management, PPD provides me numerous growth opportunities. Today in Latin America, PPD is considered a benchmark of quality among professionals and college graduates, and I am proud to be part of that.
My most memorable moment at PPD: Without a doubt my most memorable moment occurred last year when I was selected to receive a special tribute in the name of all of our staff, as PPD in Latin America celebrated its first 10 years. PPD sponsored a formal dinner honoring all our successes and being singled out was a special honor.
More about me: At PPD, we believe one must work hard and then play hard. I enjoy a positive work/life balance that allows me to spend quality time with my husband and our three-year-old daughter. We often take weekend trips, getting away from the big city for some quality rest and relaxation; my daughter especially enjoys exploring the outdoors. |
