PPD, in conjunction with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-Chapel Hill) Eshelman School of Pharmacy, offers a two-year drug development fellowship program. Ideal candidates will have obtained a Pharm.D., Ph.D. or M.D. The fellowship provides an opportunity to participate in an original clinical research project at UNC in the first year and complete departmental rotations on site at PPD during the second year.
The program offers a competitive stipend, health insurance, paid vacation and compensation for travel/ancillary expenses for one professional meeting per year.
The fellowship, which is for U.S. residents, has been offered since 1997 and has provided extensive training opportunities in different areas of clinical research.
This drug development and clinical research fellowship program overview (Adobe Acrobat file, 165 Kb) provides complete information.
Fellows will be selected on a nationally-competitive basis. Preliminary interviews may be conducted at the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) Midyear Meeting through Personnel Placement Service (PPS) or at the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) Midyear Meeting. Following review of application materials, formal interviews will then take place, beginning in January and typically concluding in March, at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy and at PPD.
Electronic submission is strongly preferred. Email the documents listed below to fellowships@unc.edu, with the exception of official transcripts. If electronic submission is not possible, you can mail your application materials to:
