PPD Beach2Battleship Triathlon
Named one of the top five iron distance triathlons in the world by Triathlete magazine, the PPD Beach2Battleship is an internationally recognized iron distance and half iron distance triathlon. The race will begin at Wrightsville Beach with a 2.4-mile open-water swim, followed by a 112- mile bike course. The race will conclude with a 26.2 mile-run beginning and ending at the historic Battleship North Carolina.

PPD, a leading global contract research organization, supports the Beach2Battleship Triathlon as its title sponsor to educate the public about the importance of clinical research in helping deliver life-saving medicines and to support the local community. Last year, PPD celebrated 25 years of providing drug discovery, development and lifecycle management services.

YMCA
The event's net proceeds are contributed to the Wilmington Family YMCA. Each year, it conducts the We Build People campaign to help remove barriers and build a bridge for those who could not otherwise have access to YMCA services, and to support the many outreach programs offered to the community.
