Raising the Roof in Wilmington
Just a few miles from PPD’s worldwide headquarters in North Carolina, employees are volunteering to construct a Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity home. The groundbreaking took place in February, and PPD employees completed various construction tasks ranging from digging footings to painting. They completed the home in June.
Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity takes a partnership approach that allows families in need of shelter to be part of their own housing solution. Volunteers and donors invest time and money so that families in need of housing can help build, then buy, their own homes. PPD’s finance group held various fundraising events, collecting $22,500 to support the project. To date, Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity has met the challenge of providing safe, decent and affordable housing for more than 150 families in New Hanover and Pender Counties.
